On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:

The division of environmental responsibilities between the various spheres of government in Australia, including the implications of the Australian Constitution;
2.
Key concepts in environmental law, including the meaning and legal context of ecologically sustainable development (ESD), especially in relation to environmental protection and biodiversity conservation;
3.
Key legislation and legal instruments in relation to environmental protection and biodiversity conservation; and
4.
Policy considerations and conflicts underlying environmental protection and biodiversity conservation through law.
